When making a game, there a number of things that change of the course of development. Sometimes, features have to be cut due to a lack of time or money, other times, new content and/or features are added. And then there’s the all the little tweaks and changes that are made to improve the original plans.
In Aurora’s Nightmare, one such change is a small adjustment to the art style. Specifically, the way the characters’ eyes are shaded. For an example, here’s a close up of Tia’s eyes using the old style.
And here’s a close-up of her eyes (from a different pose) using the new style.
So, what do you think? Brian (the one doing the character shading) was the one who suggested the change, in order to bring the art style a bit more in-line with that of newer visual novels and anime series. It’s a relatively small change, but hopefully one that players will appreciate.
