While I, unfortunately, haven’t been able to make a lot of progress on Aurora’s Nightmare recently, with the summer coming up, I should have a lot more time on my hands (though the current world situation has still left a lot of things in the air). My current goal for the summer is first to recruit a new CG artist and hopefully get the remaining CGs finished. Meanwhile, I’ll be returning to some serious writing. Specifically, I’m hoping to, at minimum, finish the script for the first route. After that, I’ll likely switch gears for a bit and put the route together in the game engine, along with some upgrades to the GUI and such. While I haven’t made any decisions yet, I’m toying with the idea of releasing the game in an early access of sorts with the first route and then patching in the remaining routes as they’re finished. But even if I don’t take that approach, I’ll be able to send the first route to testers while I work on the rest. There’s still a couple of weeks left before I can get to work in earnest, but I was able to get a lot done last summer so here’s hoping this one will be the same.
