Character Poses

Visual novels like Aurora’s Nightmare generally aren’t animated.  Instead, they have a number of different poses for each character and switch between them as the situation changes.  Let’s demonstrate with Aurora.

Here’s her normal pose which I showed off before.  As the name says, it’s just an ordinary pose for standing around and chatting.

Here she is looking very happy.

And the complete opposite…

Of course, that’s only a small sampling.  Aurora, for example, has 15 different poses, and some of those have a couple minor variations as well.  So, despite the lack of 3D models or full animation, the characters will be able to show quite a lot of different emotions.
