It used to be that making a game available for people to purchase was pretty difficult.\u00a0 Now, it\u2019s really easy.\u00a0 The problem is that there\u2019s so many games out there that most of them, even a lot of good ones, tend to get lost in the crowd.\u00a0 It\u2019s one thing if the game is being made by a famous studio, but for everyone else, it\u2019s tough.\u00a0 So how can I avoid that with Aurora\u2019s Nightmare?\u00a0 To be perfectly honest, I\u2019m not entirely sure I can.\u00a0 I\u2019m got some plans to build up interest before launch (such as this blog) and some plans to build interest during and after launch (though it\u2019s not time to talk about those yet).\u00a0 But, honestly, there\u2019s a lot of luck involved.\u00a0 Word of mouth can slowly build and give you momentum.\u00a0 Or if you can get the right person to do a review, or let\u2019s play, or even tweet about your game, that can make all the difference.\u00a0 But, unless you have personal connections with those people, that\u2019s mostly luck as well.\u00a0 You really just have to try everything you can, do your best, and keep your fingers crossed.\u00a0 Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn\u2019t.\u00a0 You would think that the over all quality of the game would be a major factor but honestly that\u2019s not always the case.\u00a0 There are great games that get ignored and terrible games that become smash hits.<\/p>\n
Of course, it\u2019ll be a while yet before we see how things pan out for Aurora\u2019s Nightmare.\u00a0 Less if I decide to release the first route as an early access title or the like (which I am seriously considering), but that\u2019s still not going to happen right away.\u00a0 Maybe I\u2019ll even come up with some new ideas or make some new connections in the meantime.\u00a0 For now though, I need to put most of my focus on actually completing the game.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
