Unlike quite a lot of current indie games, you may have noticed that Aurora\u2019s Nightmare doesn\u2019t have an associated Kickstarter or Indiegogo campaign.\u00a0 So why didn\u2019t I go that route?\u00a0 Well, Aurora\u2019s Nightmare is a project I started work on several years back (though various other jobs and projects delayed it quite a bit), a little before the whole Kickstarter craze really began.\u00a0 Another issue is that, unlike most of the game projects you\u2019ll find on funding sites, Aurora\u2019s Nightmare was planned with a very small budget in mind. Specifically, something I could pay for out of my own savings without too much trouble.\u00a0 So no outside funding is needed to finish the game.\u00a0 Not to mention that advertising a funding campaign can be tough (and time consuming) but is necessary since, no matter how great your project is, you\u2019re not going to get any money if people don\u2019t know about it.<\/p>\n
That said, there are certainly some cool additions and\/or improvements which could be made if I had some extra money.\u00a0 Additional art and music (including a full set of CGs)?\u00a0 A vocal theme song?\u00a0 Animated movies?\u00a0 Voice acting?\u00a0 A fourth story route?\u00a0 All things I\u2019d love to add to Aurora\u2019s Nightmare, but just don\u2019t fit in the current schedule and budget.\u00a0 So I haven\u2019t entirely ruled out a funding campaign.\u00a0 But, if I do one, it will specially be for additions and improvements, rather than just completing the game.\u00a0 Also, if it happens, it will likely be after the release of the first demo, so backers will be able to try the game out as a teaser.<\/p>\n
