A while back, I talked about the first of the three great mysteries which everyone in Lucerna is aware of.\u00a0 Now it\u2019s time to introduce the second\u2026the Nightmares.\u00a0 Little is known about exactly who are what the Nightmares actually are.\u00a0 In terms of shape, they appear much like Angellus but more feral and bestial, with glowing eyes and skin darker than the blackest night (I\u2019m saving the reveal of their artwork for later).
\nNightmares can appear anywhere, at any time, with no known logic or pattern behind their movements.\u00a0 They simply appear out of thin air and vanish the same way several minutes, or even seconds, later.\u00a0 Despite decades of research, Lucerna\u2019s scientists still know nothing about the Nightmares\u2019 motivations or where they come from.
\nNightmares are extremely deadly, lashing out violently at anyone and everyone around them.\u00a0 Records of Nightmare attacks show them to be not only violent, but cruel as well, with a tendency to toy with torture their victims.\u00a0 In a world while deaths and even injuries by violence are extremely rare, Nightmares have become a symbol of all that\u2019s dark, evil, and terrifying.\u00a0 Although their appearances are rare, they\u2019re something that every inhabitant of Lucerna fears.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0And the heroes of our story are no different.\u00a0 In fact, it\u2019s an encounter with one of these terrifying creatures which will change their lives forever\u2026<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
